Muhammad ibn Hatim Ibn Muzafar (رحمه الله) a dit :
« Certes, Allâh a béni, honoré et privilégié cette Ummah par l’Isnad et jamais aucune Ummah avant ou après n'a bénéficié de cette bénédiction, au contraire les livres qu'ils ont entre leurs mains sont un mélange de paroles. Ils ne possèdent aucun moyen de différencier entre ce qui a été révélé à leurs Prophètes dans la Torah et la Bible et ce qui a été mentionné et prit de ceux qui n'étaient pas dignes de confiance. Cependant, cette Ummah ne sélectionne que les récits de ceux qui ont été loyaux et qui sont bien connus à leur époque pour leur honnêteté et leur fiabilité et qui ont pris de ceux qui ont des qualités similaires à celles qu’ils possèdent eux-mêmes ; et ainsi de suite jusqu'à la fin de la narration. Ces récits sont ensuite étudiés avec la plus grande diligence afin d’identifier :
- quel narrateur a la mémoire la plus forte,
- quel narrateur est le meilleur dans l'enregistrement des narrations,
- quel narrateur a passé le plus de temps en compagnie des contemporains de qui il rapporte.
Puis, le texte lui-même est analysé sous plus de vingt angles différents permettant à chaque écrit d’être comparé aux autres. N'est-ce pas là l'un des plus grands bienfaits qu'Allâh ait accordé à cette Ummah? »

“Certainly Allah has blessed and privileged this Ummah with the Isnad and never did any Ummah before or after have benefitted from this blessing, to the contrary, the books they have in their hands are a mixture of sayings. They have no way to differentiate between what was revealed to their Prophets in the Torah and the Bible and what was mentioned and taken from those who were not worthy of trust. However, this Ummah only selects the stories of those who were loyal and are well known in their time for their honesty and reliability and who have taken from those who have qualities similar to those they have themselves, and so on until the end of the narration. These stories are then studied with great diligence in order to identify:
- which narrator has the strongest memory,
- which narrator is the best in the recording of narrations,
- which narrator has spent the most time in the company of contemporaries whom he reports.
Then, the text itself is analyzed from over twenty different angles allowing each writing to be compared to others. Is this not one of the greatest blessings that Allah has given to this Ummah?”
